Below is a possible solution to the challenge Challenge 23 – Make Bar Chart to Show Performance
1. Download the workbook from Salesman Performance Challenge
2. Select range A1:C7
3. Insert > Chart > Choose the appropriate bar chart. You will get the chart like below –
4. Edit the chat title to "Acme's Salesman Performance". Fill the title box with black color and format the title in Bold and White
5. Right click on chart title box > Format Chart Title > Give it a Soft Edge of 2.5 pt
6. Remove the vertical bars if they are shown in your chart. Now, you have a chart like below –
7. Select the Blue bar and give it light Blue color.
8. Select the Orange bar and give it Yellow color.
9. Select the legend box, format it in bold and increase the font size to 11 (Calibri)
Now, you get the chart like below
10. Right click on x axis > Format Axis
11. Select Line > Solid Line > Give it Dark Brown Color
12. Select Tick Marks > Major > Cross
Now, you get a chart like this
13. Right click on Light Blue bar > Format Data Series > Put 100% in Series Overlap and 50% in Gap Width.
Now, your chart look like below
14. Right click on Yellow Bar > Format Data Series > Put 500% in Gap Width and Line > Solid Line
Now, you get your final chart
